Sneezing or Coughing after LSH

How do these feel as you are recovering?

It must vary for each of us, I was really worried cuz I'm quite the sneezer but no problems with either. My throat was sore the first few days after surgery due to the the big hose (errrr, tube) they stick down our throat!

How is your recovery going?

I was worried about this too before my surgery, so I bought a pillow to hold against my belly just in case... The nurses said they would have made me a special belly pillow if I wanted them too....when the time came that I did sneeze it did hurt a little, but not as bad as I thought it would...

I have prevented myself from fully sneezing for two weeks now. I can finally cough really deep, so I am sure the sneezing won't be too bad now. I did really have to cough in the hospital, but I just couldn't because of the pain. But, if you get up and walk as soon as you are able it helps keep the yucky coughs away!

My recovery is coming along great! I follow all the advice they give because we only get one chance to heal correctly! Forget diamonds......pillows are a girls' best friend!!!

I had a TAH and the sneezing and coughing was a little uncomfortable internally but it went away as fast as it started. It doesn't last for hours, only seconds. At 4 weeks it didn't hurt anymore. Just be sure to have a pillow on hand for the unexpected sneezes and coughs and you will be fine.

It hurt a bit the first day or 2 when I coughed or sneezed, but nothing horrible.
