Surgical Menopause...What happens to your body?

Ladies, I am scheduled to have a BSO and am curious about the effects on the body. I have Stage IV endo, thus no HRT for 6 months. My question is, will I start to show signs of aging (e.g. gray hair, saggy skin, wrinkles, loss of pubic hair, etc.) Anyone information shared is appreciated.

Your body has some estrogen residual even with the ovaries removed (if you are very thin you have less residual however). Most likely you will have some hot flashes (maybe not), but I don't think you will age significantly. I know people who never took HRT at all after a TAH/BSO and they did just fine- the value of HRT is being debated in the medical community.

Everyone reacts differently to hormonal changes- it's best to consult your physician.
