Big appetite post hysterectomy, but having trouble eating...

I am 4 days post-op from a TAH/RSO. My recovery is going very well, but even though I get very hungry and have a large appetite, I take a few bites of any food and can barely swallow a third bite as if I've eaten too much! Is this normal? Please tell me someone can relate...

Re: Big appetite, but having trouble...

Sounds about right. I was starving in the hospital, and got home 4 days later and didn't feel like eating even though I was hungry. Just wait at 4 weeks, I was hungry and wanted to eat constantly...

Re: Big appetite, but having trouble...

I didn't feel as if I had a big appetite at all, but my surgeon did tell me that your reaction WAS the more common one -- that people tend to feel hungry, have two bites, and then feel full. I think your reaction is more typical than mine was. :-)
