Late Period

Hi,
I am 49 having a TAH September 29th due to large fibroids, cyst on left ovary, heavy bleeding, uterus the size of a 4 month pregnancy.

My period was due a week ago, still nothing. I have never been late in my life. I called my gyno today, however she is on vacation and I spoke to the nurse. She said it could be just my hormones acting up or I may completely skip this month and maybe get one next month. She was pretty vague about everything . It feels like I am going to start but it just is not happening. The nurse told me that if I don't get my period by Monday, they will run some blood tests.

Can anyone relate to this?

Thanks,
Diane

Late Period

My period was due Aug. 8 and never came. It kept feeling like it but didn't. Here I've been complaining of these heavy periods (always regular) and now that I have surgery scheduled for tomorrow, it never comes. I asked the dr. if it decides to show up tomorrow, can we still do it or would it be canceled. He smiled and said, of course! We wouldn't do that to you.

Guess it's stress...nerves.. who knows. Tomorrow I go.

Late Period

I was also about 10 days late for my last period (before my procedure). I don't know quite why (and I wasn't always regular) but I didn't let it trouble me too much. My doc said that it could be stress or pressure from the fibroids (I think one of my ovaries used to take a month off once a year).

If you're concerned about pregnancy, go ahead and pick up an over the counter test just to be sure.

And if you need to, try calling your GP to talk about it or ask for a recommendation for a phone consult with another gyno from your regular gyno's practice.

Take care.
