woke up with a yeast infection! Now what?

This morning I woke up with a yeast infection and can not get through to my gyn because he is in surgery today.

Anyone have any suggestions?

What happens if I do get rid of this and then it comes back again before my surgery? Will they have to postpone it?

If you're sure it's a yeast infection, I'd recommend one of the over the counter treatments.

Definitely get a hold of your doctor either way and discuss it.

I would imagine a yeast infection is not a good thing to have if you're having a vaginal procedure. But it looks like your surgery date is a ways off, so you might want to take extra precautions to keep from getting another one (take probiotics and stay away from sugar-laden foods, drink lots and lots of water).

I was actually wondering the same thing. I just finished antibiotics a few days ago and finally took the Diflucan last night that I'd had on hand from a month or so ago. My surgery's next Friday -- 8 days away is plenty, right?
