dVH/RALH: 14 days and stressing

I went today to see my GP for a pre-op and because we are keeping a close count on my anemia. My count has dropped lower even though I am taking iron and he has increased my supplements to 3 times a day. I have learned that a stool softeners are my new best friend. My DH is feeding me steak, chicken, eggs, spinach, tons of protein constantly.
The surgeon will draw my blood the day before surgery and I am scared that my counts will be too low. My doctor told me that if things don't improve after surgery I have to go see a specialist because I may need a transfusion and possibly a bone marrow biopsy I am really praying this is just from my uterus and the fibroids. I just want to make it to the castle!

My blood dropped big time before surgery, and it was my biggest worry that surgery would have to be cancelled. You are doing everything right, food, tablets etc. My iron was up before surgery so everything went ahead, and since surgery, everything is back to normal. They will keep checking your blood Im sure, they may even offer you a transfusion before surgery, I know of others who have had that, because its your bleeding thats probably causing this, so once out, hopefully everything will settle down.
The wait before surgury is stressful enough, so I hope you find ways to relax and get enough sleep before hand.
