3.5 Months Post....Any Problems????

I am celebrating 16 weeks LAVH today but is experiencing some bladder malfunctions? I've called my dr., having some stomach pains, full bladder but can't really go, when I do go I find myself leaking when I thought I was finished......anybody else having these problems? I think it may be a bladder infection or UTI. Other than that I'm feeling fine and doing everything I want to do. Take care!!!

It's good that you called your doc--I hope he can offer some insight. My doc told me that after a hyst, we are more prone to UTIs...that has definately been the case with me. Our bladders experience trauma during this surgery, so it is possible that it would be necessary to visit a uro doctor...but be sure and discuss this w/the doc. My doc recommended taking cranberry pills help w/the constant bladder infections, but you should definately discuss this w/your doc first. He said the pills were better than cranberry juice because the juice has a bunch of sugar in it.

best wishes!

Thanks for the response Pianoplayer...I just returned from my family dr. he prescribed me some meds to take the sensation away. My urine looked fine, no infection, but not sure why I'm having bladder discomfort. When he pressed on my bladder, oh my gosh, I was in so much pain. I drove back to work in the bent over position and it's just now starting to feel better. Will try the pills for a few days, have to have urine tested again Fri. Thanks for the suggestion about the cranberry pills, never heard of those.
Smooches & take care!!

I'm glad you were able to see your doc today. Hopefully the medication will help you. I had a catheter for 26 days after my surgery...and it took several weeks before everything was back to "normal". Apparently, bladders are very sensitive and do not like to be bothered. If you continue to experience the discomfort, do not hesitate to call them back--that is why they are there...and it could be something else besides an infection.

take care, sweetie! hope this goes away real soon....bladder trouble is the PITS.
