Advised to have full hyster but have many concerns?

Hi Sharon I think your GP is right to question the recommendation of a hysterectomy for ovarian cysts. Is there anything wrong with your uterus that would require its removal? Have other methods of treating the cysts been tried? Have you ever been diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)?

I would suggest getting at least one other opinion, perhaps more. You might seek out the counsel of a reproductive endocrinologist.

If I had been given the option of dealing with my cysts only I would have gone for that.

But I had fibroids too :-(

you might want to get another opinion. why is your dr advising a full hysterectomy for ovarian cysts? also, you might want to ask about just removing the cysts and keeping your ovaries. have you tried medication to try to control the cysts?
