Numbness at IV site - anyone else have this?

I came home yesterday from my Wednesday surgery. I am having numbness in my arm where the IV was. Has anyone else had this?

I had my surgery 10 days ago and while I didn't have numbness, I had all sorts of other issues with my IV arm. Lots of bruising (from the wrist to the elbow), achey, sometimes sharp pains, general discomfort. Then my vein became hard, like a stick, and very sore. Saw the doctor yesterday and she said I had phlebitis (vein inflammation) but that it wasn't anything serious and would go away, in time.
