Food Allergies after Hysterectomy

I had a total hysterectomy on March 11, 2016. Since then, everything I put in my mouth causes an allergic reaction. They are becoming more severe as time goes on. Prior to the surgery, I had some identifiable food sensitivities. Now it's everything. I am constantly suffering from red, itchy and inflamed skin and eyes. I have diarrhea most of the time. My stomach hurts. My tongue becomes tingly and I am having trouble sleeping. My hands and feet are always swollen. I think I may be close to needing an epipen and I'm afraid to eat. What happened?

It sounds like your immune system is on overdrive. I would definitely see your family doc as this is not a usual happening after a hysterectomy. Some of it might be related to surgical menopause. Are you taking HRT?

Were you on any antibiotics during the course of your recovery? It might be an unbalance of your normal gut flora or what is referred to as "leaky gut" syndrome. Possible gluten sensitivity?? What ever is going on, you need a doctor to help figure it out. Try keeping a food diary to have some info when you do see the doc.
