4 month check in

Well it has been 4 months since my LAVH. I have to tell you, I feel like a different person. I DO NOT miss my 70 day long periods and the pain associated with any of the issues I was having before my surgery.

I was lucky in that I got to save both ovaries. They were iffy about one but it turned out they were able to remove the cysts without removing the ovaries. I also had a lot of endometriosis and my bladder was fused to my uterus. It is amazing not having to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes.

My sex life has changed considerably. Not sure if it's the fact that I don't have to worry about pain but I seem to have regained my drive - nudge nudge...lol. (Something both my husband and I are enjoying.)

My raging PMS that I experienced before surgery is GONE!!! I still know when it would have been that time of the month because I get a little weepy but in no way shape or form am I the raging, psycho lunatic I was. (Something everyone in my life is enjoying LOL).

I remember being so afraid for surgery as I have never had it, nor been under. I still get a little swelly belly at the end of the day and have a bit of a middle now that wasn't there before (working on that!!!) but I can jog now because I am not constantly bleeding! I get a little twinge every now and then when I really overdo things but nothing an advil doesn't take care of.

I wasn't 100% sure that this was going to be a good thing. However, I know now that this was the best thing I could have done for me! Hurrah for new, stainfree, SEXY panties and white pants!!!

Re: 4 month check in

Thanks for sharing that! I'm 4 weeks post-op and starting to get frustrated that I'm still so tired all the time. I have things I want to do!!

So it's heartening to hear from someone four months out who is jogging etc. Great for you!
