Am I crazy??
I am exactly one week post-op. uterus, cervix and tubes removed laparoscopically. I kept my ovaries. My husband was home with me all week last week and today went back to work part days. He told me yesterday that he'd be home around 10 today, but is not here. I texted him to learn he'd be home around lunch instead. It's NOT the end of the world, its really not!!! Rationally I know that, but I blew a gasket and yelled at him anyway about breaking promises and how I don't want him to come home at all and I don't need him anymore. He's treated me like a queen since I got home from the hospital and didn't deserve that. He is angry and hurt by my outburst and i dont know if he will be coming home ag all today until the kids are home. Since I told him not to come home and all!
I don't know how to make amends, I said some horrible things, then I just sobbed uncontrollably for about an hour out of guilt and confision. I am tired of using the old "it's my hormones" excuse when I've had a bad day.
More than anything, I'm trying to understand where this is coming from? Mom took my kids to Colorado for the past 4 days, so it was just me and hubby hanging out watching movies and talking. Today I got up to an empty house. There was no breakfast waiting for me, no one to bring me my medicine and ice water, etc. I realize I've been spoiled but its like I've gone from being the center of the universe to utterly alone and I feel so incredibly lonely. Aside from my husband, none of my friends have come to see me, even though they promised they would. I could reach out to them and tell them I'm feeling low and they would come. But it's not the same.
Is this normal? Now that life is returning to "normal", I feel so unbelievably sad and alone but I'm not even sure why. Thanks for the ears. As always.

Re: Am I crazy??
You're not crazy. I think we all feel a bit let down when we stop being in everyone's spotlight and also experience some fear about managing on our own. I suffered from doctor withdrawal, it made me nervous that a medical professional wasn't in charge of me anymore.. Especially if your recovery is going well, no one realizes that you're not necessarily back to "normal". Your friends might not want to intrude. Call them up and tell them you'd love to see them. It will get better.

Re: Am I crazy??
No, you are not crazy and yes, it is probably a combination of your hormones and anxiety about being on your own for the first time.
You are not alone. I have had a couple of "freak outs" on my husband and older son. I just apologized and tried to explain what is going on with my body and mind. It is a very stressful time for all involved. I am sure you will be forgiven; I have.
I am on my own during the week too as my husband is working and the kids in school. Try to enjoy the alone time with reading, etc.
As far as your friends go, reach out to them. Some people just do not know what to do or say. I did not reach until after my second repair surgery. My husband was also too proud also. Now they are texting me, bringing meals and visiting. It is a great support.
Please do not get down on yourself or blame yourself. What you are feeling is normal. I have chosen to go on HRT since I am still about four years away from the average "normal" age for menopause. I am hoping this is helping to stabalize my moods.
I wish you luck and this is the best site for support. Hang in there!

Re: Am I crazy??
Nope, not crazy at all. Now call or text that man back and tell him what you just told us. :-). I've had no signs of hormone crazy I hear can happen...for those that have, should she talk to her dr about taking hormones or something?

Re: Am I crazy??
I am not sure about HRT when you have ovaries but I am sure someone can chime in.
I had total hysterectomy so everything is gone and my second week on HRT.
