Big gap in incision area

All the staples removed and all that is left is the leukostrips. I have noticed where there has been drainage, a gap (about an 1/8th inch) Has anyone else have that? The doctor doesn't seen to be concern but will it close up eventually?

Re: Big gap in incision area

It will close eventually but will have to heal from the inside out. May make an ugly scar though

Re: Big gap in incision area

1/8 of an inch is pretty big of a gap, are you sure it is't an 1/8 of a cm, either way if it is draining you need to keep it covered. and clean and dry and it will close on its own.

Re: Big gap in incision area

Maybe not so big of a gap, but there is an area where you can see where there is or was drainage. I wish I could show you what it look like. It doesn't look like a line. My doctor had me put a thin maxi pad over to protect it, to keep my clothes from rubbing on it.
