Post Op off to a great start.

Had a TVH on 7/23 started walking when got home about a 1/2 mile twice a day. Lost 13 lbs. DH is wonderful. first week helped me shower and make sure surg sites were kept dry. Dr.B can't believe my recovery. Took Miralax right away when got home got be back to normal within 5 days. Some nights couldn't sleep - took unisom that really was great and not habit forming [according to DR] Now taking EmergenC [powdered drink great for healing andtioxidants] and Omega 3 and Calcium w/D. I believe they have been a great part of the "feeling great". Still have to talk to myself to stay quiet and don't start doing!

Welcome home and glad to hear you are doing so well! Congrats on losing 13 lbs. I lost 10 the first week, gained a couple back but those and am back on the losing track. Was walking alot the first week, then pooped out. Now am back to walking 1.5 on my lunch break and then some more in the evenings.

My recovery has gone really well, was released to work and drive at 2 weeks.

It was really hard to not do things because I just felt so great. Sounds like you are doing all the right things. Best of luck in your recover, just remember to listen to your body!
