What does BSO mean?

Hi all! I am scheduled for Jan 5 '04 and the info packet from the Dr's office listed the surgery with /BSO as part of it. I've seen it in others' profiles, but none of my friends who've had a hyst know what it means.
Any clues? It's prob'ly just medical jargon, but I'm a need-to-know-before-hand kind of person.

Both ovaries are removed. The more correct term is:
TAH/BSO = Bilateral Salpingoopherectomy---Removal of uterus and both tubes and ovaries.

Bilateral Salpingo Oopherectomy.
