5 wks post op - bleeding

I am a bit afraid to sleep. The doctor said that light bleeding is common, but to keep an eye on the bleeding because if I am soaking a pad an hour for 7 hours straight, that I should go to the ER.

I had some VERY MILD spotting early on, so mild that it was hardly even worth making a fuss over. Yesterday, I went to my therapist's office and I drive a big Dodge truck. Someone parked a little too close to me and I had to squeeze in and climbed into the truck kinda weird and strained something. I thought to myself, okay, I did this last week and nothing ever came of it, I'll go home and take it easy for the rest of the day. So, that's what I did this time around too, well, kinda sorta... I got home, cleaned the cat litter box, did some prep work for dinner. Tweaked something while picking something off the floor today. And then Tweaked something while getting out of bed to shoo the cat out of the bedroom. A couple of hours later, I wake up with a horrible pain. And, so I went to the bathroom and I am bleeding.

TA DAH... week 5 and I am bleeding. The hospital that I would rather be at is farther away than the neighborhood hospital. The hospital where I had my surgery is not the neighborhood hospital. It is 4am and I could call the doctor, but I feel guilty, especially since I'm not in excruciating pain, and I am not bleeding profusely (yet). I am peeved off to the point that it is taking everything I got to keep from posting up a bazillion foul potty mouth words here.

I think what is peeving me the worst is that I have been looking forward to the 6 week post op appointment, hoping that I can return to normal activities without any restrictions, and have sex. I have been looking forward to never having to miss another get together with friends, or having to cancel trips... My friend's birthday party is this Saturday and I've had to cancel my RSVP at this friend's house numerous freaking times because of a period, etc... And, I can't believe this!!!! I AM BLEEDING and chances are the boyfriend is going to say that I need to stay home and rest all weekend.... What the........................

I just wanna go outside, pound my fists into the tree and scream profanities until I lose my voice.

Re: 5 wks post op - bleeding

Wow- I'm not sure what to say about that! Did you go to the Dr. today? I would definately call them!

I would agree with your bf, you need to stay home and rest. You have only one body and it needs to mend. Take care of yourself and please post what the outcome is!

Good luck & I'll be sending happy healing thoughts your way!

Re: 5 wks post op - bleeding

I guess the answer is, it depends on how much you are bleeding. If you are soaking pads you definitely need to be seen. If it is light you probably should at least put a call in to your doctors office, or their after hours number and let them know what is going on.

Hope you get straightened out soon!

Re: 5 wks post op - bleeding

Miss Rowena, I hope your are feeling better. Lovetheocewn is right it all depends on how much you are bleeding.
If it's not soking a pad in a hour, get some rest put your feet up. It really helps. If you have plans to go out you should keep them if you feel well
enough to. It will help your spirt.
Well I hope everything turns out ok for you.
Sending hugs your way
