Feeling "Out of It" 8 Weeks Post-op
Hi Ladies. I've been posting that I'm feeling great and, for the most part, I am. But, these past few days I feel out of it. That's not much of a description, I know, but it's the best I can come up with. It's like I don't feel well-rested or alert. My eyes feel heavy and sleepy even though I am getting a lot of sleep. I don't have a lot of energy, just generally feel "blah."
I am not on HRT, been told I probably don't need it but I just left a message with my regular OB/GYN (not the one who did my surgery) to see if I should get my hormone levels tested.
I know this is pretty common as a post-op symptom but I wasn't really feeling it until recently. Wondering if anyone has felt this way and if HRT or something else helped. I have hypothyroidism and am being treated for it. Last check my levels were normal.
Thanks in advance for your replies!

Have you started to do more activities recently? Are you eating well? Sleeping at night? Maybe you are fighting off an illness.

I am glad that overall you are doing well. I would give it a few more days. It could just be something passing through. If it persists, I would most certainly talk to your .
I have suffered with severe depression in my past. I would have day after day or what you are describing. But, I would also feel like I had a "brain fog". So, I worry that may be creeping up on you. However, it is totally normal to have up and down days during your recovery journey.
After my lavh/bso my energy levels took a nose dive. I wasn't on HRT at the time. About 3 months post op, I started my ERT. That alone wasn't enough. My doc recommended B12. You might ask if that might be something you would respond well to.
Listen to your body, listen to your instincts.

Yes, it is like a brain-fog. I went to a chiropractor today and when he snapped my neck a few times, it seemed to get better. Not saying it's gone, by any means, just seemed to help. I have a lot of knots and tension right now.
I wish I could figure out the HRT answers. I hear good and bad. I don't want to slip into a depression!
Thanks for the reply!

Spinal adjustments release chemicals into your body that help to make you feel good. That is why some people develop a need to be adjusted all the time. Do I remember correctly - you live alone? Do you see anyone regularly that can give you feedback on yourself? It is hard to judge yourself. Keep an eye on how you feel, maybe start a journal or mark your calendar. See if a pattern develops or if you are improving or worsening over time. Maybe you will gather information that will help settle the hormone question along with improve your energy levels.

Could be hormonal. Could just be actually what a lot of women at 8 weeks would welcome (who have other complications.) Checking with your doc. can't hurt. Could even be thyroid?

Re: Feeling "Out of It" 8 Weeks Post-op
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. I live with my DH and DD. I keep asking my DH if I'm different. He says no, just have a different outlook. He says I'm happier!
My thyroid should probably be checked again. I'm on thyroid meds but haven't had bloodwork in a few months.
I agree, I'd rather be just feeling this way than having major complications. I sincerely feel for those who are struggling with more serious issues.
Blessings to you all!

Hopefully your insides catch up with how you appear on the outside Maybe it is just a matter of more time. Your fatigue may be from your body needing to heal some more. :}?

Re: Feeling "Out of It" 8 Weeks Post-op
I know my ovaries went to sleep & didn't wake up until the 3rd month. After that I started to perk up a bit. Not sure if you have yours of not but if you do, it could be related to that? Just a thought.
