Depression

I had my surgery June 5th .. And I am now 3 months post -op .. I got to keep both of my ovaries and I have been so emotinal and moody and depressed .. I just don't know what to do.!!! I didn't have a wonderful recovery A week after my surgery I had my incision to set up infection and it busted open leaving me to heal from the inside out which now is finally healed up. I am overweight and I have gotten bigger since the hysterectomy .. Has anyone else had or is having this problem of pain in ovaries still and depressed and very emotinal???? HUGS!!!!!!Audrey

(((((Audrey)))))

Sweetie, I'm sorry you're feeling this way.

I hope it makes you feel better to know that you are not alone. We are here for you, and there are plenty of gals who have gone through the really tough emotional aspect of all this, too.

It's great that you do have the worst behind you now! I think you should give yourself a break; take it easy on yourself.... this was a major ordeal for you to go through, emotionally as well as physically.

In fact, there is probably still healing going on, which can add to emotions, too... (it's sneaky that way)

Hang in there, sweetie --- We're smiling at you

So, you are not at all alone in this!!My gp's nurse told me she had a hyst. YEARS ago & she still starts crying for no apparant reason!! (She chalks it up to the hormone jungle & being unbalanced by it.)Hope you feel better real soon, and can rest as much as you need to.Let us know.

Audrey,

I just wanted you to hear that you are not alone in the emotional struggle. I'm at five weeks recovery and find myself crying numerous times a day. I'm typically not an emotional person so it's pretty weird. I've heard pretty clearly from many women that this can be a part of the process. My therapist (who has helped tremendously) keeps reminding me that the emotions are not becasue I'm doing anything wrong or because I am a failure. It's hormones.

I'm sending you a big hug . . . and a box of kleenex! I buy them in bulk now!

I was going to ask about this myself. I have been feeling abit fragile and sensitive. I didnt know whether it was hormonal or just part of the healing. I am the 5 week mark.
