Getting it out

Thanks for all the replies. Info surely helpful in making my decision. Have decided I am tired of eating birthcontrol pills and motrin.
Going to have sub-total hysterectomy on December 19th. Will have pre-op on Dec.14th. Any advice would be appreciated. I am scared to death. will be 1st surgery for me. thanks to all.

Getting it out

Hi Ruby! The best advice I could possibly offer is to read as much of this site as you possibly can, and to post all your questions here! There are NO stupid or embarrasing questions here - we answer everything as honestly and quickly as we can! My TAH was not only my first surgery, but my first time ever in a hospital, so I was completely terrified, and this site saved my sanity. Good luck and please stay in touch!

First-time Club!!!

Hi Ruby!

I am also a member of the "first-time club". I've never had major surgery, been in a hospital (except for when I was born), etc. I recently had a D&C (outpatient), but in this situation, I don't think it applies. Therefore, I am also terrified.

The women here are truly helpful, so don't be shy--take advantage of the wealth of knowledge they can provide.

You are in my prayers.
