Is crying normal???

Hi Sisters,
I had my MRI...got the film and see my new Dr. GYN Specialist next Friday.
My question is...I seem to be teary eyed a lot lately and not a very positive person. It seems that all my old beliefs have crumbled before me and I am left wondering "What Happened"
I am usually a VERY positive person and full of hopes and dreams...will this come back after my fibroids and uterus are removed?
I staved off surgery for 1 1/2 years by switching to an organic diet...then out of the blue the hemmoraghing started up again with a vengenance. So it looks like surgery is going to be my answer but this hoplessness is driving me crazy. It's not about losing my uterus..it's more about losing my power in creating my health...does anyone know what I mean or am I talking out my hat...lol

Is crying normal???

Hi Nail Tech,

I had a serious bleeding fibroid which led to my emergency TAH. Anemia and constant bleeding will make anyone cranky and certainly makes you feel out of control.

My doctor and I tried to control this thing for a year and then it made the decision for me. I am now 6 weeks post op and looking forward to getting my health in control once again. I'm getting stronger and feeling better, and when I go to the doc next week I'm going to ask her what else I can do other than walk.

Try not to look at this as losing your power, but as taking the power to get on with a healthier life.

I wish you luck with your decision and better health in the future.

Is crying normal???

Hello and

We're happy you joined the Hyster Sisters community. Facing a hysterectomy may be an emotional experience for many different reasons, so...in answer to your question: Yes, unfortunately, crying is normal. It's difficult experiencing the unknown, when many of us get so comfortable in our own little world. We think we're taking care of ourselves, leading a heathly lifestyle, making wise choices and having regular medical check-ups -- that "should" prevent these problems from occuring. And when they happen despite our best efforts we feel betrayed and out of control.

We know what you are experiencing, and we can help! I'm sending positive thoughts your way!

Many s to You!

Is crying normal???

Hi Natalie,
I've always been pretty strong. It was a no-brainer that I needed the hyst and I felt prepared and educated.... then at my pre-op visit I burst into tears from out of nowhere!

~Even if your tears are from some mystery place, they are normal.

Thinking of you~ Sistabeth

Thanks Ladies:-)

I wondered if I was normal...now I know I am and it makes it way easier. Now, when I feel like a loser and a failure I remind myself that it's normal to feel like this and I won't feel like this for long. I feel a lot better after that little talk to myself and those dark feelings disapear.
I to ended up in the emergency room due to excessive bleeding...that was 1 1/2 years ago...I have been trying to shrink those fibroids by diet ever since but for some reason they started growing again. So I am hoping my Dr. will want to take out my beloved Uterus. I imagine there will be many more emotions surrounding this surgery than I can know...but I will get through it. I am sooooooooooooooo looking forward to riding our Harley again...without worrying about bleeding through...
Thanks Ladies:-)
Looking forward to the snow this year:-)
