No Stitches? huh?
Had my 2wk post-op today, and the doc said I have no stitches. She said she shaved off the top of my cervix, and then it was cauterized and a layer of something or other to prevent the bowels from sticking to it was applied. Anybody ever hear of this method? I'm kinda happy I have no stitches to worry about!

Maybe your doctor meant that the stitches have dissolved? I couldn't imagine no stitches of any kind being used after the surgery. Even if you kept most of your cervix, it would still be an entryway into your abdominal cavity if it weren't stitched shut.

NO! She said there were no stitches used! Just that piece of material over the top.

I had what is called a supracervical hysterectomy, and from what I am reading, it is relatively new, and no stitches required. No bleeding at all since day 1.
