DvH on Jan 29 sisters...r u driving yet??

Hey DvH sisters....are any of you driving yet? Is it too soon?? All my dr said was she was concerned abt the seatbelt and be being able to use the break and not on pain pills.

Yes, I am. I'm only going short distances to the school or the store. I have no problems turning in my seat to check behind me and the seat belt fits comfortably. I haven't taken narcotics since my second day home.

I drove the 4 th day after. I wasn't taking narcotics of course. My doctor gave me very few restrictions. I have cooked, shopped, cleaned, worked. Just no straining. I have been lucky I guess. Good luck

I waited until 4 weeks post op,but I had problems with a really bad infection just days after surgery that sent me back to the hospital for several days. Had a lot of pain too and tired out easy. I was glad when I could get back behind the wheel, as I felt like my wings had been clipped:-(

I was driving 4 days post surgery. (But also not taking any pain meds). Had no difficulty at all!

Hi, Had my surgery on the 29th as well and yesterday went for my first drive. I was nervous but needs must as i am the only driver in my household. I only went as far as the shop to get a couple of things and all appears to be ok. Listen to your body it will tell you if you're overdoing it.
