TAH - 3 weeks Post Hysterectomy - blood oozing out of incision

Hi, I had my TAH on 11/30/2015, surgery took 3.5 hours. After 10 days they removed my staples and put steri strips, two days after that bottom two incisions expanded and the tissue/fat came out (not sure what that is called). Dr cleaned it up and put steri strip again. The incision was healing well and I had 3 weeks post op appointment two days back. Doc put just 2 steri strips - one in belly button and 2 at the bottom as the incisions were not fully healed in those spots.

Yesterday night I sneezed a bit due to allergy and rolled over and slept on my belly a bit. This morning I woke up with wet panty and PJ near the incision that was actually healed. When i checked it was wet (water + blood combination). It was not that smelly stuff. I still get blood from that spot, looks like a hole. Not painful or any fever. I didnt find any thread explaining that. Please help

Is healed incision (side of the incision actually) opening again a common thing? is it the build up under the incision that has come out? Please help. thanks

I had a bikini line incision and dissolving stitches. Had no problems with healing.

If you're worried about your incision, it's probably a good idea to have your doctor/surgery nurse check it out.

One of my incisions popped open and oozed a disgustingly dark brown blood. ER did what your doc did, cleaned it up and slapped a steri strip on it. It kept leaking that nasty brown blood until it drained completely. Follow up with doc, and he told me it opened and leaked due to infection. We've been cleaning it 2x a week as instructed and it has gotten better... but I still have a watery blood tinged discharge on occasion. Doc said it will heal from the inside upwards (it's about 1cm deep). It's worrisome to me as well but we've been keeping an eye out for redness, warmth, and any pus or yellow discharge... so far so good.
