There is life after hyster!!!!!!!!!!!

I probably shouldn't even write this and jinx myself, but I am just so happy I had to share it and let other ladies no there is hope!Today has been the first day since surgery (well since way before surgery) that I actually woke up and felt GREAT!!!!! no headaches, no aches, no pains, no cramping, no stiffness, no backache, I felt like a new person!!!! And my mood was so great I was cleaning the house laughing, dancing, singing, just felt really good about everything for once and it feels so good! I haven't even taken a tylenol today!!!!!!!!Sure hope it stays this way and continues to only improve~

Congrats, and thank you!
Despite the daily improvements and "baby steps" towards feeling human, it's sometimes hard to believe--in the early stages of recovery-- that we really will return to normal (or better!) post-op. Thanks for the inspiration, and may your good days persist!

For what it's worth, I think it's worth adding that many of us probably get so caught up with the post-operative woes that we kind of forget what drove us to get hysterectomies in the first place. For me, fibroids leading to unexpected and endless episodes of bleeding, some of it torrential. I'd wake up in the morning and rush to the bathroom across the hall, and--despite pads and tampons-- leave a trail of blood that would have inspired any Hollywood horror-flick director.

Horray for you! I too, had a good day and it is a WONDERFUL feeling. Cheery Kitty, I hope it continues!

JaneDoe212, I agree with you about getting caught up in recovery that we forget what brought our surgeries on. I also had extreme bleeding, but my doc took it very seriously and didn't make me wait for months to see what would happen. From the day he examined me and found a mass, to the following day, where I had a sonogram, my TAH/RSO was seven days later. Less than three weeks has passed and I feel wonderful!
