Re: Kept Ovaries but Sweating

I seem to wake up drenched in sweat these days and I have no idea why. My TAH was on Dec 10 and this is driving me nuts. I kept my right ovary.

Re: Kept Ovaries but Sweating

I had the same problem as well and kept my left ovary. At the hospital, I woke up in such a sweat that I had to have the nurse change my pjs. I had those horrible night sweats for at about 2 weeks and then the sweats started to ease off. I still have them but they are not as bad. Re: Kept Ovaries but Sweating

Hope is right. Ovaries can go into sleep mode and take a while to "wake up". The other explanation depending on how old you are is that you are entering perimenopause which is where I have been for the last two year. My hot flashes last about 30 secs so they really don't affect me much, however, I am getting them more frequently since the operation.

I will be 37 in March. I don't think I am in pre-menopause yet but it could be possible.

Ive read we can go thru pre-menopause for up to ten years. With the recent hysterectomy i think our ovaries are just sleeping. I think we have to talk to our docs and might have to give the body longer to heal, kinda the wait and see approach
