Surgery Rescheduled

I just wanted to say thank you all for your kindness and support when my surgery was postponed last week. I took this week to run away from home. My daughter is in college so I came to take care of her and her roommates to keep me from getting too depressed over it. Anyway, my doctor called today and my surgery has been rescheduled for next Thursday the 20th. So I didn't have to wait too long. Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers during this emotional roller coaster.

Pamper yourself this week and treat yourself to a pedicure, facial or massage.

I wanted you to know that I also have had kidney reflux surgery. My Dr. who is Chief of Gynecology didn't want to do the surgery, so I was referred to an oncologist who is used to dealing with special cases(no I don't have cancer). He also wanted a urologist present to insert stints. Just remember that your Dr. is looking out for your best interests. I'm sorry you had to reschedule, I know how hard the waiting is.
My surgery is tomorrow, I'll let you know how the stints go.
I'll be thinking of you on July 20th.

This may sound crazy but I'm coming out of hiding,
6 more days till my TAH and I'm terrified! It seems
no matter what anyone says it's your "own journey"
and you go it alone...I've known for 3 or 4 years now I've had fibroids and my uterus is the size of a 24th week pregnancy but I just "lived" with symptoms
bladder pressure, just a huge belly ,heavy periods
I've had 3 gynes tell me you need a hysterectomy,
other options I've read about but don't seem to totally
eliminate the fibroids...they seem like "temporary
fixes" why waste your time on what may not work.
maybe thats foolish but I finally decided May23rd during
my yearly pap " gotta do it" and be done with it, so
I feel at peace with the desision but very uneasy about
the pain..recovery ect...sorry to rant but I've finally come out of hiding hopefully to get some words of comfort.

I'm glad you went and spent time with your daughter,that's good for the soul.I will be thinking of you next week,my surgery is the 19th,soon we will be done and on our way to recovery.
