Strange bleeding

I posted a few days ago about some heavy bleeding that started a few hours after I'd hurt myself running to my son. I had talked to the on-call doctor who said it was probably just that I was being more active and had caused a scab to tear. She said the bleeding wasn't enough to worry about and it should be fine and stop soon.

Anyways, I'm STILL bleeding. It seemed as though it might taper off last night but again today I get these occasional little gushes of blood on top of the constant flow and the blood I bleed is bright red. I'm terrified of the ER, I don't think the people there will be nice or gentle or even truly know WHAT they're doing. Do you think it'll be okay if I wait until Tuesday when my doctor is in the office? There's a lot of blood but it's like a period, a lot but not enough to fill up a pad within an hour. Something just doesn't feel quite right.

Your doctor more than likely has an answering service. Call your doctor's number and the answering service can have him/her contact you.

Very good advice from Katherine. You know, I wonder if we were the wives of some of these doctors, if they would just say, well, I'm sure it's fine, just a scab pulling. hmmph.

Strange bleeding

I had a TLH on 01/02/09 and had next to no bleeding till day 9 when I had a pain in my right side and took Aleve and went to a memorial service and was standing for 20min and hemorraghed. My DH rushed me to the ER. I had bled so badly they were treating me like a truama case. I was so scared. The on call DR was a associate of my Dr. After he examined me he said that a scab could of come loose from my cuff and the blood can pool in the vagina and come out all at once. He cauterized the cuff and sent me home for 48 hours of strict bed rest. I then could resume the post op routine. I went back to the Dr 2 days later and he said it looked ok. They have told me that I could have bleeding on and off for up to 6 weeks . Mine tends to come and go and changes back and forth between red and brown.
