1.5 weeks and a emotional wreck

I was just wondering if I might be going crazie..lol I had a robotic hysterectomy and they took everything but my ovaries. I have been finding myself starting to cry over the most dumbest things..like sitting watching a commercial, or watching movies and a lovey dovey part comes on. I cant help it. I feel so helpless too, like I am slacking on my housework. Don't get me wrong, m husband and kids have been and are wonderful. I think with everything that is going on in my life right now, and the unexpected pinching pains all of a sudden down there..im a mess. Is this all part of the healing process???? I hope everyone else is recovering safely and quickly. xoxo

Re: 1.5 weeks and a emotional wreck

I have been through that and I know how you feel. Even though they left your ovaries maybe they are a bit sluggish right now or maybe your just feelin the effects of anesthesia??? I had your surgery done in 2005 and on July 19th, I went in for A&P repair and bladder sling but they ended up taking my ovaries. I was fine the 4 days post op but on 5th day my world went crazy. Dr put me on Vivelle Dot hormone patch and I feel better. BUT, I still feel like you are describing at times. My husband and kids have been wonderful too, so that's not it. For me I feel like I'm just useless. Have no energy to do anything, very rare pain, but maybe it's bc we are out of our routine of working and being the caretaker? I think you/I are totally normal and this is just part of the healing process! Hugs to you!

Re: 1.5 weeks and a emotional wreck

You are absolutely normal!! Give yourself time and you will be back to yourself but better. I had my surgery in Jan of this year. It took 6-8 weeks to feel normal again. Do not be doing housework! Rest and rest some more. read or watch some good movies. Let yourself have this time.

Re: 1.5 weeks and a emotional wreck

I had my surgery the same day as you, kept my ovaries as well. And starting last Friday I was a crying mess, and I have been so crazy emotional since. My doc says it's normal, but to keep an eye on it and not let it go on for too long without checking back with someone about it.

(((HUGS))) I'm right there with you! Praying it passes soon enough, and we start feeling even better than our normal selves soon!!

Re: 1.5 weeks and a emotional wreck

It seems like I hit that "wall" at about 1 1/2 weeks also, spent the whole day crying over nothing. Let it out and you will feel better! I went through half a roll of TP during my crying fit but felt much better and slept very well that night.
