I love this place!
This place is wonderful! I know that I can ask questions that seem silly and love reading the posts because I get so much from it!
This may sound like a silly question so here goes....does anyone ever trouble using tampons even when the flow is enough to warrant one? Until Dec I had been period free for 3 years (depo). I have been bleeding for the past 17 days - not real bad or anything but today has been heavier but it is almost like I can feel the tampon hitting something (my uterus is tilted). Also curious as to what everyone perfers to use for cramps. I love aleive but sometimes it bothers my stomach. And one more, does bleeding everyday (even when its light) just drain you? I am getting more & more tired as each day passes and surgery isnt for a while yet.
Thanks!
Dawn

I love this place!
I ALWAYS had trouble "getting the durned tampon in straight!"
Another reason to be glad that all that is over! And I remember feeling exhausted all the time. My cramps were so bad that my doctor had to give me a prescription (can't remember what it was). And YES you do feel exhausted. You're passing off a lot of iron and potassium as well as blood. Try eating a lot of fruit. Raisens, bananas, etc. do help.
This is a lovely spot. Glad you found it. I don't know what I would have done without it.

Hi Dawn!
Good questions, not silly. I cannot stand the tampon going in or being in any longer. I haven't been able to use them for almost a year and find that it feels like they are constantly falling or bumping into something. I am constantly tired. Ask you dr to check your iron, you may be anemic. I hope you start feeling better soon.
angie
p.s. as for cramps, nothing really helps me..BEST WISHES!

I love this place!
Hi Dawn!
I have 2 girls, ages 9 and 2-1/2. After I had the 9 year old via C-section everything was fine. After I had the younger one vaginally I was all tore up. And ever since then a tampon felt different. I don't know if something happened during or after that delivery but it hasn't been the same since. I do have a tilted uterus so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. I have the same sensation as you do...feel like the tampon is bumping into something if it doesn't slide in just so.
I've been bleeding pretty constantly for about 5 months. Yes, it drains you. Not only physically but emotionally. It's so tiring to have to worry about it and plan your day (and your wardrobe) around what your bleeding may be like that day, which you really CAN'T plan for. I have been exhausted for a couple of months. My bleeding isn't as bad as some and I don't have any pain, so I can imagine how tiring it is for those of us who suffer badly. My TVH is due to fibroids and I can't wait to get it over with!!!
Hang on! You'll make it. Your day will come quicker than you realize! Good luck!
Karen

Yes, I always problems getting the tampon in right. Turns out it was hitting all kinds of interesting things *gag*.
Have you been checked for iron deficiency anemia? How are you doing getting enough protein, iron and vitamins?

I have the same issue! I hate tampons! They always feel like they don't go in far enough, like they are hitting something and then they hurt when I pull it out. Forget about it!
I will use the icky pads for this next to last AF! YAY! I think I started hating tampons after having my first child, I had a 4th degree tear and nothing healed right in there. Can't wait to go to the castle! hugs to all! Raymo

Hello!
YES-ADVIL-YES!!
Whatever I take, usually Advil or Motrin, I have to make sure I take it no more than 4 hrs between doses or my cramps are unbearable....I've never given birth but I imagine this is what labor feels like...when the cramps are at their worst I know I will expecting bad clots....which rule out the use of tampons (the clots are bigger than they are; sorry for being crude). Just think....soon all this fun will come to an end!! Hang in there!!

Oh yeah I always felt like it was going in wrong or that I was giving my vagina a stickshift to hang onto and yank with my cramps. And when the clots got larger I thought I'd be shooting the tampon across the room from the pressure.
Advil, peppermint tea and sometimes walking helped the most withthe cramps. Another thing that I found as I researched more was water, drink lots of it if you can.
And get your doc to check you for anemia. It is insidious and can really impact your life. The biggest effect is being tired but another step is always being out of breath since the red blood cells deliver oxygen to your lungs. Less RBCs = less oxygen.
