Question I forgot to ask

I'm scheduled for April 7, uterus only unless something else in there looks like it needs to come out. I decided to keep my cervix and my ovaries since there is no history of cancer in those parts in my family and they've never given me any problems.

When talking to my Dr. about this we discussed that I wanted to keep my ovaries and not be thrown into surgical menopause. I didn't even think about this though. Will I still have the raging PMS hormones? It normally gets really bad during my periods (which I'm on my final one EVER). I get hateful and I'm easily provoked. It could be because of the pain I go through during periods. It's hard to be chipper when you feel like someone is trying to set your guts on fire. I don't know.

My hubby thought I'd need to be on hormones after this but I explained to him that I'm keeping my ovaries and that is what regulates the hormones. He then said that I couldn't blame my mood on my hormones anymore. That got me thinking about this.

Re: Question I forgot to ask

The reason I am not keep my ovaries is because I have endometriosis. The monthly flux of my hormones stimulating my ovaries makes me crazy. The monthly ups and downs will still be there after the removal of the uterus. (this is based on my research, I'm not a doctor) I don't want to have to deal with the crazies and would rather have a constant level of hormones as my estrogen levels are off the charts right now. In my unprofessional opinion you would most likely have the same pms symptoms if you don't remove the ovaries....you should call your docs nurse to be for sure. ;-)
