Do any of you feel this way?

I feel like I have a tampon inside or something? I feel like there is something inside my vagina. I am scared to feel up there myself. I see Dr. for a post op check tomorrow and will ask him... I don't have any spotting, haven't since week one... I just feel a heaviness or kind of a pressure up there... Is it the way a vaginal cuff feels? Or what could it be?

Do any of you feel this way?

I can say with a fair amount of certainty that if there was packing left in there since October, you would feel much more than pressure. I had a vaginal birth 16 years ago, and didnt know I was "packed" within 2 days the odor was unbareable! I am way too new to post-op to say if it's the vaginal cuff, but other sisters have said you can not feel any difference.

It's good that you see the Dr tomorrow, that is what I would recommend, since something doesn't seem right, but he/she is the only one truly qualified to determine what that is.

Good luck and let us know!!

Do any of you feel this way?

hi lauriecircle

I had uterine/bladder prolapse, and that is how I felt before my surgery. Exactly like I had a tampon working its way out. Its good you see your dr, you will get a peace of mind.

I have to ask you what kind of hernia repair you had done?
I haven't seen anyone with it, and it's so hard to compare myself to anyone else because of it.

I had very weak tissue apparantly, and after repairing 2 different hernias, the surgeon just put in an absorbable mesh all over the place!

Please update on what your dr says...

I had the same feeling. When I went for 6 week check up had some granulation and the cuff wasn't healing and the dr. used the silver nitrate on the spots. I haven't had that feeling since. Dr. also said I might have a little swelling.

Do any of you feel this way?

Flutterbye, Hello to you too. Yes I do feel like my recovery is way slower and different. I am not allowed to lift anything (but my son )... for a long time. I too had an ingual hernia repair and the mesh placement. Plus I had a cystoscopy to diagnosis IC during the surgery too. So really 3 surgeons, 4 hours of surgery and a much longer incision.... Means 8 week recovery!!!

I am doing okay, but if I twist wrong or lift anything (even just my laptop... LOL!) wrong, I sure do feel it!

It does exactly feel like a tampon that needs to come out! Gosh I hope it isn't my bladder, that would be all I need!!!

I will let you know. I see Dr. today at 4 p.m. CST....

Thanks for all the replies, ladies!!!

Do any of you feel this way?

Saw Dr. for 6 week check today. He said that is the way a 6 week vaginal cuff feels... Normal healing process I guess... That is good news, I was envisioning another sugery or some such horror!

Lauriecircle -
That is great news! I mean, I'm sorry that you're feeling that, but happy that it is normal!
