sleeping all the time is that normal

I get up just long enough to take me a few walks around the house and use the bath room and eat then it right back into lau lau land and I sleep better than I think I have since I found out I had to have this don I had a vah bso on the 26 apirl and doing great with it take take the pain pills only when I need them am I getting to much sleep but before I went in I did not hardy sleep at all anyone eles sleeping so much I did;nt think a person could sleep so much.Thanks

I was wondering if I am sleeping too much too. I am completely drained, I have been making myself get up and do a few things here and there. I completely wore myself out just taking a shower. I made myself walk outside for the first time today for about 5 mins. But other than that I just want to sleep. :timeup:

I had my TAH/BSO on Feb 16th and I slept a lot that first 2 weeks too. The first week that is mostly what I did when I got home. I was in the hospital for 3 days post op and just slept while I was there.

i am five weeks post op for a lavh and hernia repair and i still sleep a lot. fatigue is mostly the issue at this point

Enjoy the sleep while ya can lol, I slept for what I thought was too much the first 2 weeks, when I hit the 3rd week I started having restless nights, then got to where I couldnt sleep, now I find myself wishing i could sleep atleast half as good as I did the first 2 weeks, rest is what we need to heal up good, so rest rest rest and good luck and speedy recovery to ya

Sleeping alot is normal after surgery. Your body is going through alot. You do need to rest.

When I first had my surgery I remember showering made me tired.

Listen to your body and rest.

Yep, I'm still sleepy 4 weeks out, but I don't sleep as much. Remember, when we sleep is when our body repairs itself, so sleep away!

Glad sleeping is normal i take like two naps a day now and go to bed at 9pm LOL.

i'm still as tired when i get up as i was when i went to bed and i'm going on week 6...however the doctor did tell me i was slow healing but i'm looking at going back to work in two weeks and i just don't see it happening. afternoons early evenings i get energy but just not for long

i slept for about 4 straight weeks following surgery. i'm nearing my 3rd month marker and i am just now starting to feel *normal* like i have energy to make dinner and walk after work. just about the time you go back to work you may hit another wall...the first two weeks back at work wore me OUT!!

get plenty of rest while you can. remember that your body is healing up while you sleep. enjoy your time resting so that when you're back in the game you'll be feeling better than ever and you'll be so glad that you got the rest you needed!
