5 weeks post-op, and one incision is not healed

I have 5 incisions and only one of them have not healed, its reddish two small scabs and when i pull back on of them it has thick yellow junk coming out. Gone to My Primary Dr. last week and he said its fine, and Seen my surgeon same week also and She said its looks fine.. WELL ITS NOT FINE IF I HAVE THICK YELLOW JUNK COMING OUT OF IT< (IS IT). and now today when i pulled the scab back not only thicker but darker yellowish but along with a long string with i'm guessing its the stitches from inside. has anyone gone through this with the robotic? and after a month??

Re: 5 weeks post-op, and one incision is not healed

I'm sorry but I was so glad to see someone else having the same concern! I am eight weeks out of my TAH and was not feeling any better at 4 weeks. The doctors said it was nothing until I came out of the shower and two incisions popped and copious amounts of pus came pouring out (sorry for TMI)! It was actually pouring down my leg. I rushed to the doctor who again said "Eh, no big deal. It's a wound infection" and put me on antibiotics. Finally.

Two weeks later I was still leaking (clearish brown) so my surgeon reopened an incision to help the last bit clear out. So my incision took over 6 weeks to heal! I never have seen any stitches come out, and I've never had any bleeding. It's only been the incision and wound infections.

I've since been told that dark and thick discharge is not so good. Clear discharge is healing better. But it can take months to fully heal!!

I how this helps. It is really gross but will stop eventually. But leave the scabs alone to prevent further infection.

Godspeed on you healing. This is a great site for finding out you are not alone.
