Help! Urethra and bladder pain 3 weeks post hysterectomy
I am finding Advil helps and rest. I'm only 10 days out and my bladder issues just started.... today I used a heat pack(microwaved) and it received the pressure. I'm not having pain when urinating and it is more discomfort- like the ic pain I used to get. I really haven't had much ic pain in years so this is new again. I think I'm just healing bladder wise and when I'm up doing things during the day bc I feel better it is just taking its toll. I am wearing the compression garments today and resting and plan to have complete rest besides walking each hour the next two days before my follow up appt. I watched the videos on IC on this site today and it made me feel like everything is normal just part of recovery. It is weird for me to take pain pills for this type of discomfort but the videos made me feel better about taking Advil and it did help! Hang in there! I know how you feel- this type of discomfort is so annoying bc it is different than real pain but still pretty debilitating!

Where do you find the ic videos at? I'm new here and have trouble maneuvering around. Glad you are doing some better.

Re: Help! Urethra and bladder pain 3 weeks post hysterectomy
He took a urinalysis and said that sometimes you can get a uti after the surgery, but he does not think I have one. He said it is from doing to much and i need to rest. I shouldn't be lifting, cooking, cleaning, etc yet, until I don't have that discomfort. He also extended my leave another 2 weeks making it now 6 weeks total. That makes me sad, because I wanted to go to work! I think it is because I am not in excrutiating pain, I feel like I should be working, but because the body is still healing and at-risk for complications if you over do things, that they make you stay off work, unless you have a desk job etc.
He said that light spotting is normal, and I shouldn't worry, and he wants to see me in 2 weeks. He said for sleeping I could take a tylenol pm. I said I don't want to do that. He agreed, and said it will go back to normal soon!
