lazy bladder??

Had my davinci on sept 26th.

Each time I go to pee, it is short and sweet. I feel like I have more to give when I get in there.

Is there something I need to be worried about? Is this going to improve?

Re: lazy bladder??

Hi,
I found that my bladder felt weird for about a month and gradually returned to normal. Make sure you drink enough water. If I was in your shoes I'd be calling my dr just to be on the safe side.

Re: lazy bladder??

My bladder was crazy for about a month as well. It took me 5 minutes to get It all out because it came out so slow. I had very low pressure from the bladder shock. It will get better, but if you can't get much out, you may need not see the doctor. It can lead to retention and will cause a bladder infection.

Re: lazy bladder??

Hey! I already suffered from urinary retention prior to my hyst. After first time peeing was quite the challenge! I still deal with some bladder spasms but they have much improved. It can be tricky because it is very common to get a uti from surgery due to catheters. But try Maybe limiting all liquid to only water and see if that helps but I have also seen women needing help with cath after surgery too. I was very glad to avoid it knowing I have problems getting my muscles to relax and the bladder to contract.

Re: lazy bladder??

I had the daVinci yesterday and have noticed the same sort of "short, sweet and but more to give" you have. Hoping it gets better for you...and me! I know I'm just one day out but it seemed if I took 10 gulps of water last night, 40 minutes later, I was on the toilet but only about half coming out. I'm trying apple juice, too.

Re: lazy bladder??

I just had my daVinci on 10-2, and have the same issue. I feel like it takes me so long to go. It's like my bladder forgot what to do. I have to say I did not really expect the huge impact this has had on my bowels. It's like everything is moving in slow motion

Re: lazy bladder??

Be sure to take your ibuprofen. I found that I was swelling enough to cause me to not empty my bladder all the way - leading to a uti. ((HUGS))

Re: lazy bladder??

I have heard the meds can do a number on both your bowels and urinary tract, though my bowels were the only thing messed. I pee like a race horse now, which is fantastic for me. I think that your concerns are best addressed by your doctor though, as I have heard that the Davinci can really cause inner trauma. I opted for the laproscopic surgery instead because of my fear of those traumas. Try to keep your fluid intake steady, add oj w/ pulp and apple juice and keep your diet light for a while to ensure there is no straining. Your insides need time to heal as well.
