Average time spent in Castle for TAH?
Hello Ladies
I just wanted to let you know that my doctor had asked for me to stay five days. I went in Friday morning, 6am, was on the table at 8:45 am.
I was released Monday morning. Over the length of my stay, I walked, walked walked! Drank LOTS of water (Trust me, drink LOTS) and kept my race track warm in the hall way. The nurses said I was burning a path home!
I was told because I had a BM EARLY Monday morning that that was the reason for my early release. It was not the most pleasant thing in the world, but it got me the ticket home!
So, I would say, expect to stay for 2-3 days, and add more time for problems. Usually, here in Canada, soon as they know you're passin' that gas and movin' those bowels, you're shot outta there like a cannon so someone else can have the bed
Good luck sweetie! Welcome to the family!

Average time spent in Castle for TAH?
Tuesday morning TAH, released Thursday at noon. I was nervous about being released, but felt MUCH better once I was home. Amazing how being in the hospital makes you feel like you're supposed to be sick!
The doc came in Thursday morning and told me she was releasing me, but if I felt that I needed another day she'd approve it. But, she said there was no danger, and I was doing fine, so recommended that I head home for better recouperation.
Even though I had GREAT castle care, I was ready to be home.

Average time spent in Castle for TAH?
I went in Thursday morning and was sprung on Sunday, for a grand total of 3 nights.
My doctor told me stairs were okay to take slowly. I had to go upstairs when I first got home too, so I walked around a little bit to get loosened up before I started climbing. I went up sideways, hanging onto the rail, and had no problems whatever. I wouldn't recommend running up and down them for the first week or two, but just the one climb didn't cause me any problems.

Average time spent in Castle for TAH?
I had a TAH Monday and was released Thursday morning, although I had been booked in until Friday.
I'm also in Canada so as soon as everything was working fine, they let me go. Everything was actually back to normal Wednesday but they had to wait for the surgeon's visit/approval Thursday morning before they could release me.
I was happy to get home. I also had stairs to conquer as soon as I returned home but I just went slow, held onto my tummy and used the handrail.
I had no problem. Of course, I didn't run up and down the stairs until some weeks later.
Keep well,

Average time spent in Castle for TAH?
I had a SAH on Monday am, was approved to stay until Thursday. I left Wednesday am, but could have left Tuesday pm. I have two 13 step staircases and did them without trouble. The first 2-3 days I limited my trips, and then life set in and I did them whenever I had to with no ill effects.

Average time spent in Castle for TAH?
I had SAH on Monday morning, dr. said I could go home Tuesday afternoon if I had passed gas, didn't pass gas until early Wed. morning. I went home at 8:00 a.m. Wed. My doctor had told me I would most likely be there 2 nights. My insurance company that does start with a "C" generously approved a 1 night stay and the castle had to call for the 2nd night.
And I have stairs and was told I could go up and down them as much as necessary.

stayed 2 nights
I had surgery Tuesday, 6/7/05, that finished about 4pm. My doctor asked if I wanted to go home on Wednesday afternoon but I opted to stay till Thursday noon. I wish I had taken him up on the offer. I had a horrible Wed night - diarrhea for 2 hours- and really wished I were home in my own bed and bathroom!
Since I have been home I take only a few ibuprophen and feel great.
I had a total LH and am 50.

Average time spent in Castle for TAH?
I went in on a Tuesday morning and home late Thursday afternoon for TAH as was planned. I did'nt begin to feel better until I was home. I had very poor nursing care at the castle. Had the morphine pump for less than 24 hours and had to beg for pain meds after 4 hours. Then it would take the nurse and hour to bring them to me. It was also timed so that my meals arrived when the pain meds had wore off so I did not eat a thing in the castle. By Friday I felt like a new person. No stairs at my house but I was told it I did have them to try not to do them more than once daily.
