Well I made it through the travel to MIL's funeral.

Thanks for all your support and encouragement. I am so glad I went. She was a very nice lady who loved us very much, and she deserved the respect, as does my husband. The trip went smoothly, taking less time than we anticipated. We stopped a few times for a bathroom break and to walk around a bit. Same thing coming home.

But let me tell you, it exhausted me. I'm a strong lady, but this TAH has really gotten me. LOL Of course I'm just 2.5 weeks post-surgery so it's pretty amazing I could do it at all. I feel like the trip did set me back a bit in terms of pain, but it was worth it. I honored MIL the way she deserved.

If anybody else needs take a take a long trip before they're healed, I suggest siitting on a pillow. putting a little pillow between you and the seatbelt, taking potty/walking breaks, and resting when you return.

Thanks again for the support. You are all wonderful.

Nan

I so glad that you were able to make it. Now that you are home, try and take some time for you. Relax, read a book, and put your feet up the next couple of days.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Hugs!

Re: Well I made it through the travel to MIL's funeral.

Nan, I'm so glad that you were able to go and that it all went well. I know it does feel like you've taken two steps backwards (been there) but after a few days you'll fell back on track.

Take Care,
Robin
