Itching! Help!

HELP! I ITCH! Everywhere! I can't stand it anymore. Anyone got any ideas on what to do to stop the itching? Thought it was just a reaction to hydrocodon but I've been off that for 24 hours and I'm still itching. Of course my doctor's not the one on call this weekend and the one on call says to just wait until tomorrow and see if it get's any better. Luckily I'm not in a lot of pain so I can just take Advil and Tylenol alternately until I can talk to my Doctor.
Tried cool baths(with a cloth NOT in a tub), alcohol baths, baking soda baths, vinegar baths. Got any other ideas? This is going to drive me crazy! And when I do fall asleep I wake up scratching!

Re: Itching! Help!

I am having the same problem. I itch everywhere, it is worse on my hands and feet. I've been itching for 3 days. I'm taking Benadryl, as I haven't called my Doctor. I have been off of pain meds for over 2 weeks, so I'm not sure if this is the anesthesia "leaking" out or what? I can't stand it, but I'm hopeful that it will improve soon.

Re: Itching! Help!

I did for a couple days, take Benadryl, and use a lot of lotion. It seemed to help with me. but I don't have much more input. I hope you feel better soon!

Re: Itching! Help!

I developed a horrible itchy rash on my abdomen (started as hives) as well as on all 4 laparoscopy incisions and it turns out I was having an allergic reaction to the dermabond they used on my incisions. The dr put me on prescription strength steroid cream and it helped a ton. He also scraped off all dermabond on day 6. I tried Benadryl prior to the prescription and it just made things worse.

The itching was not throughout my body, like yours, but it completely covered my abdomen, not just the incision sites. Hope you get relief soon!
