Vag. Hyst. scheduled for Tuesday!!

Hi BusyBee - at least you won't have time to be nervous. I am 5 days postop and am doing fine. I agree with the other sisters that the gas is a problem, I just let mother nature take care of that. I was in the hospital for 2 1/2 days because my bowels did not want to "sing". I was on the morphine pump for pain and it really helped. I was in no pain. I was off it the morning after my surgery. I have not been on anything since. While in the hospital remember to drink your water and walk (IV pole and all). I had the nurse help me into my own PJ's because I didn't want to walk around in the hospital attire. Take your own pillow because the hospital pillows make you sweat (I thought I was having hot flashes) and make sure they get you up the night of your surgery. I was left in bed until the next morning and my back was killing me. My catheter came out the next morning. Just think that after your hysterectomy NO MORE HEAVY PERIODS! That is what kept me going. You will be fine and on the road to recovery before you know it. Take care.
