What kind of testing did you do preop?

Hi there,
My papers say CBC, urine and Blood HCG. No Ekg for me! Also, it says type and screen and hold 2 units.

My preop is on Thursday....wow....my surgery is less than a week! Scary!!!

I had the same pre-op tests. Since I am extremely anemic, I had to be tested to see where my levels were. I brought my mother with me, she and I are the same bllod type in case I needed a transfusion, but fortunately it was not needed. No EKG for me either.

I was dx with adenomyosis, fibroids, severe and heavy menses 5-7 days every 21 days. My ovaries were able to be left, but everything else removed.

My Pre Op Paperwork indicates CBC , Type and screen, pregnancy test, and to give zinacef( antibiotic). No EkG for me either. ( Kinda surprised by that) I go tomorrow for preop!

My preop testing was the CBC, Type and screen and a pregnancy test. I was also supposed to have a chest x-ray and an EKG, since I had lung surgery in Sept I was able to use those results instead of getting new ones.

Pre-ops do seem to vary quite a bit depending on the dr and what all is to be done at surgery.
I had the blood work, urinalysis, chest x-rays, and an EKG. I was 54 and I guess that made a difference.

My hospital said if over 50 you get an EKG. So I got one.

I had the same tests as you all but they also checked TSH (as I have an under-active thyroid) and I had a chest x-ray.
