dropping bladder

Hi, ladies. Today I went to a pain specialist, and one of the questions he asked was if I have any pain or difficulty with urination since my hyst. I told him that I've had recurring UTIs since the surgery, and that for a couple of months now it takes me a minute to get started after I sit down to go. He said I need to go to a urologist because those are signs that my bladder has dropped due to not having a uterus there to keep it in place. Has anyone else had this happen post-hyst? Are there any non-surgical options?

Also, one of the things he wants me to start for pain control is walking in the swimming pool. Is this a problem with the UTIs and all? It sounds a little bit counterintuitive.....but on the other hand, if I pee right after I get out of the pool, maybe it will be okay.

Any words of wisdom? I feel like I'm trying to muddle through all these post-hyst issues.....I'm not sure I would have done it if I had known what the aftermath was going to be like.

*heavy sigh* Just need a good night of sleep to change my attitude!

i cannot wait to get the all clear for the pool. i used to teach water aerobics, and there is nothing better for my flappy bod! i haven't had bladder problems, but i send many hugs your way. please let us know how you are doing. we are pulling for you! heather
