LAVH Oct 16th

After a myomectomy 9 years ago my fibroids grew back and after a year or so of deliberation, decided to go forth and have a LAVH.
My recovery was faster than I expected. I couldn't wait to get out of bed and start walking about! I did discover that I needed a lot of afternoon naps even after returning to work so only worked part-time until I could make it through an entire day wihtout exhaustion.
I had no post-op nausea due to anaesthetic because I had it intra-venously. That was such a relief for me.
I feel I have regained my life back in a way. The constant bleeding I was experiencing due to the large amount of fibroids, was wearing me out.
I still have a swollen lower abdo area but no pain which is brilliant.
I have also noticed an increase in my libido post-op. I also had a Mirena which affected my hormone levels so I feel now that my body is back to "normal". After reading a lot of posts on this site...I concur that everyone heals differently and it is important to listen to your body. Don't feel guilty about sleeping a lot or napping. Onwards and upwards
PS. Happy holidays to all
