hormonal and crying

im almost 2 weeks post op and for the past 2 nights I've broke down crying thinking my vagina will always be "broken". I love sex and well... my vagina LOL and I feel like it will never be the same. I feel like I've done really well with my recovery so far but these last few nights have really gotten me down. Anyone else feel this way? Can I get any reassurance that things will be better soon? I want to be able to go to the bathroom without cringing, I want to feel NORMAL down there. I know it's a long road and I have no choice but to walk it. I just need some reassurance. When I feel down there (not that I do often or anything, but bathing, etc.) it almost breaks my heart. I just feel broken...

Re: hormonal and crying

My heart is going out to you....I sending you a big cyber-hug!!!! Your body has been through so much right now...and you just had major surgery...so right now...you are broken. You have to let yourself HEAL. It's okay to feel this way because you are healing. We really aren't supposed to be cut open and have parts taking out....if we were we would have zippers. Its only been a few weeks....be kind to yourself. Listen to your doctor and let your body have it's time to adjust....you won't always be "broken". Just take it day by day.....and you will feel the pieces falling back to gether!!!!! Good luck and come and vent anytime!!! That's what sisters are for....

Re: hormonal and crying

I remember feeling similarly. I cried a lot the first few weeks about a lot of things. It does take time to get back to where we feel more "normal." Good for you for venting. This is the place to do it too. We understand because we ahve been there. Big cyberhug is coming your way.

hang in there,

Re: hormonal and crying

Thanks ladies. I know the reason I've been so emotional is because my hubby goes back to work tomorrow and I gotta get back into my old routine with the kids (3 and 18 months). I'm so afraid I'm going to over do it and make recovery worse.

Any tips for getting back to being a sahm for 2 lil ones would be great. TIA!

Re: hormonal and crying

I'm not the one who has to try to take care of the kids, so I won't say don't do anything, of course. ;-) But all I can say is if anything is optional and you even think it could hinder your healing, don't do it. If your dh can do it when he comes home, let him. You can do a great job another day (a couple months down the road. :-) Let your kids sit next to you on the couch or even the floor. Don't lift them, etc.

Hang in there mamacita you can do it! ;-)
