Hot Flashes/Acupunture?
Yes, I have had 3 treatments so far and I think it's working! You should go to the thread titled "Hormone and Menopause Central" there's a sub forum there called "no ovaries-no hormones, no HRT" It's a very helpful forum and I go there very often.
I had a TAH 3 months ago and I cannot take HRT so I was miserable with the hot flushes and insomnia. I didn't want any more doctors or pills and I had read that acupuncture can be very effective for menopausal symptoms. I started to really feel a difference with the hot flushes after my 3rd treatment. sometimes it takes awhile, but it's so worth it! I'm taking almost exactly the same vitamin suppelment cocktail that you mentioned and I think the combination is really working.
Give acupuncture a try and wait a few weeks before you really judge wether it's working or not. It hasn't completely eliminated my hot flushes, but I get them much less frequently and they don't last very long. A big difference for me. It's pretty manageable at this point! I feel much more comfortable. I wish I could say my insomnia is better, but it's not. Acupuncture doesn't seem to help me with that. I am taking melatonin right before I go to sleep and that seems to work okay. I don't want to become dependent on Ambien.
Anyway, check out the forum I mentioned. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Hot Flashes/Acupunture?
i have tried melatonin & tylenol pm but don't want to get addicted or immune to them.. I go in for my "late six" week checkup tomorrow and will ask for a prescription for Ambien for occasional use.. The hot flashes are crazy... besides the fact of waking me up thru out the nite... I get a hot flash, throw everything off me, go to the bathroom, take a drink of water, lay there - than suddenly I am freezing again and get back under the covers & try to go back to sleep! Ahhhh.... But much better than the cramps, bleeding and PMS I suffered from for years! Guess I shouldn't complain so much!
