Bowel Prep Tip
I don't know how many of you will have to do what I have to .... I have to to the entire gallon of GOLYTELY...terrible stuff.
I talked to the nurse at my Dr.'s office today and she said that if you get the plain kind, then reconstitute it with water, as in the directions, then add something like crystal light or kool-aid powder to it (lemon-lime is what she told me), it is actually not bad to drink...don't know if I believe it, but I am willing to try anything...

Kelly,
the golytley is a prescription. The nurse said to be sure to ask for the "unflavored" kind, that way you can add the crystal light.
Good luck to you too!!

Bowel Prep Tip
Hi Ladies,
When I got my Go Lytley (what a mistake that name is -- lightly -- NOT), anyway, when I got mine, it came with 6 or 7 little packages specifically designed to be mixed with the stuff (your choice of wonderful flavors -- ugh).
Anyway, please double check with your doc before you mix anything with it, ESPECIALLY anything that is red or orange in color.

Had to do that stuff several times for colonoscopies & hemorrhoidectomy. Crystal Lite helps. Try to get it down in whatever manner you can. One time my best friend helped me by playng a "chugging" game & he cheered me on - 8 ounces at a time! Also ask your doc or nurse if you have to drink ALL of it. I was given the OK to quit once I had consumed about 60-70% of it, but I was in the hospital and the nurse OK'd it. Also be prepared to get the 'chills' - I got them every time! Best of luck!

One little tip that helped me was to use a straw. I could still taste it, but not the whole time it was going down. I also chose not to chill the mix once I added the water because it is easier for me to chug room temperature liquid than cold liquid... that way I did not get the chills either. It was pretty gross, but I got it all down and I received a compliment from the gastroenterologist about my well done prep! (smile) I'm sorry that you have to do it, but it helps the doctor to see all they need to see if your squeaky clean! s Blkisue
