Anyone else have pain after riding, driving?
Hello Sisters,
I live in rural Oklahoma and the roads are terribly bumpy (lots of pot holes, uneven pavement and generally just unkept). I am 7 1/2 weeks postop TAH and am generally getting along well as long as I stay out of the car. After a thirty minute ride I am so sore, two thirty minute rides in one day and its for me. I was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem? Thanks for any input or suggestions as this is really starting to get me down!

Bumpy roads do take their toll. I've been using a small pillow over my stomach and buckling the seatbelt over it. That and driving slowly. Not ideal but it does help some. Good luck and I hope you are feeling better soon.
BTW - love your avatar!

Hey, Diana, where do you live? I live north of Ada and yesterday we went to my brother's at Okemah (an hour away). I could barely move this morning; in fact, slept late. I have been slow moving all day. I am 4 weeks post LAVH.

songinthedark, thanks for the tips and words of comfort!
treemcd, I live in Checotah, that's about 45 minutes from Okema east down I-40. I know where Ada is though. I have had this since the beginning the most challenging part of the whole healing process for me has been not being able to go any where without lower pelvic floor pain and exhaustion the next day!
Hugs to both of you!

I've been through Checotah many times. Now the obvious question (don't shoot me): do you know Carrie Underwood? LOL

Yes, I get lots of pain and I'm at a little over 9 weeks. The bumps make me sore everywhere - from incision to above my bellybutton. I also get a horrible amount of vaginal pain (sorry if TMI!).
But, I have help! I take my swellybelly band and string it through a clean bread bag (to keep water off my clothes) and wear it in the car. It helps EVER so much! The bumps really don't bother me when I wear it. I also wear my seat belt funny and that helps - I put the lower part of the seat belt band (that goes over your lap) and hike it way up over the top of my swellybelly. That helps a lot, too. I couldn't ride in the car if I had to wear the seat belt the proper way.
Hope you feel better soon!

No, I don't know Carrie Underwood personally. My kids went to school with her though. My son actually asked her out when he was in eight grade and she was a senior. Of course she turned him down, poor kid! My brother in-law was her high school science teacher. Anyway, hope you feel better soon Treemcd! Thanks, for the swelly belly band tip movingforward, I have been using my pamper the princess pillow between me and the seatbelt but hadn't thought of that! It just makes a princess feel better knowing she isn't alone in her struggles that other people are struggling too and care! Thanks to each one!
