Evening Primrose

I'm on BCP right now trying to regulate everything as I wait for my TAH. I'm planning to keep my 1 remaining ovary but I'm already experiencing anovulation so I'm not sure how productive the ovary is.
I've looked into Evening Primrose and can't start it yet because it is contraindicated with anaesthesia.
Are any of you using it? Is it effective? How long does it take to "kick in"?
Thanks!

I take evening primrose oil, too

I tak eit as well, but I started to take it when I was a teen to help my skin. It really worked well for that, and since I hace done a lot of reading about its ability to help with pms and overall health. I will stop taking it about 1 week prior to my surgery, along with the MANY other supplements that I take. I will ask at the naturopath that I see if it needs to be stopped earlier.
I feel that it has made a difference for me.

Evening Primrose

Possum

What does the Evening Primrose do for your skin? I've bought some but wanted to give everything else time to settle down before I started adding that and Black Cohash.

healthy skin

Well, EOP (evening Primrose oil) contains linoleic acid, which is an essential fatty acid. These are needed by the skin. I found a web site that is pretty good at explianing it:

Hope this helps!
