The problems just never end

Well I am 12 weeks post-op today. I wish I could say I am doing great but it would be a lie. I posted before a few weeks ago to tell what happened at my post-op appt. My doc had told me the problems I was still having were being created in my head and that I needed to see behavioral health. She left my ovaries because when she was in there she couldn't find any of the endo. Well I just went to doc's for the third time since surgery. I have had ongoing problems since surgery. I am now told by the specialist I saw today that she believes my ovaries may have glued themselves to my vagina so I am having an ultrasound done on the ninth. She also believes that my rectum and vagina may have attached theirselves together. She says that since I am now off the BC that my endo is going crazy. She said even though the doc didn't see it doesn't mean it wasn't still there. She thinks the pregnancy and Lupron had shrunk it and it was being controlled by the continous BC. I have to see my GP tomorrow because I am having rectal bleeding with bowel movements. I am also having constant pelvic floor pain especially in tail bone area. Just wanted to tell what is still ongoing for me. Thank you everyone for being here for me. Don't know what I would do without you all. Oh she has also recommended that I go back on BC to control the endo and I told her I can't take it anymore that is the reason we did the Hyst in the first place.

Hi honey...so sorry to hear about the difficulties you're having. I really think doctors need a few extra lessons in compassion and how to speak appropriately to people.

I did the Lupron nonsense for 6 months after my surgery last year. Did nothing but make me soooo sick. They found a ton of it when they went back in this year. Just as an FYI, I'm sure someone will correct me if I have the figure wrong, but my surgeon reminded me that it is generally believed that the endo they can literally see represents only about 30% of what we really have as it is embedded in our tissue. Reassuring huh?

Stick to your guns until you find the doctor willing to help and if you need to seek psychological help because of all of this besides, do it! There is no shame in saying "I need help coping with.....".

hugs

I am sorry you are going thru this!

Good for you in persisting and insisting on an answer. Of course, if you are in pain, you probably had no choice. Too bad your Dr. could not have helped you find these answers!

When you see your Doctor tomorrow about the rectal bleeding; you might want to discuss a colonoscopy if you have not already had one recently. If it has been awhile, maybe it is time again?

Whatever you find, please please keep up posted!

I have never had a colonoscopy but the gynocologist today recommended i discuss it with the doc. So I did plan on bringing it up tomorrow. I didn't have these bowel problems until a few weeks after the surgery that is why she thinks there is scar tissue there. Thank you for your guys' support.

eek. I just reread my post and realized it sounds a bit scary! I hope I did not alarm you with my colonoscopy suggestion.

There is a strong history of colon cancer in my family so I tend to be a little too sensitive to rectal bleeding issues.

Best to you, and do let us know how your appointment goes tomorrow.

saw doc saturday

I saw the doc saturday morning. I have to have a bunch of blood tests done. I see surgery on the 11th for a consultation for a andscopy. I am having the ultra sound on the 9th. I see the gyno on the 12th to discuss how pain meds are working and results of ultrasound. I am taking my mother with me as she was at the appointment when we decided on the hysterectomy. She will be able to tell this new doc how the old one said I didn't need to remove my ovaries because the endo shouldn't be a problem after the hyst. Well it is now what I call period time and I am cramping more then I did last month. Just gonna get worse every month until these ovaries are out. I am gonna ask on the 12th to have them taken out because I can not put artificial hormones in me anymore. The whole reason for the hyst on 7-7-06. Well I will let you all know what happens. Thanks for listening.

Wow, I'm so sorry you are having so much trouble and the first surgery didn't take care of your problems.

Hearing your story really makes me feel more confident in my decision. I had a LSH last week and my doc took my ovaries because of the endo. I had a lap back in Jan. to burn off the endo and my doc said a lot had grown back in that short time. I am on HRT but my goal is to get to as low a dose as I can tolerate.

Adhesions are no fun. I've had adhesions attaching everything in there twice now & it's very painful. I am so sick of doctors not listening to or believing their patients. You should tell her the bill she sent you is all in HER head (or copay or whatever).

Best of luck to you. You'll be in my prayers.

Hi, I am so sorry you're going through this. I saw from you sig you're only 25 yrs old. That is so young. I feel for you. I am sorry your doc said you need to see a behavorial professional..what a bunch of crap!! YOU know YOUR body, and wht you feel..not that Dr. At least now you're getting some tests that may show something. And if you can't get a doc to listen..you change docs to one that will.

Best of luck to you. Hang in there. It will get better. It's always darkest before the dawn.

Hugs
