Lupron...

Hey everyone. Im new here and i was hoping some of u ladies could offer some advice. I started on the lupron depot injection may 18th i believe was my first injection. I bled almost the entire month until my 2nd injection june 15th with maybe 2 or three days in between "periods". And this was no spotting this was borderline hemorrhaging bleeding the whole month. I had no bleeding from the 15th until the 20th when i started spotting again and now im bleeding thru a box of tampons every 24 hrs. During the noght last night was the worst its ever been i think in my LIFE and im 33 and have had my cycle since i was 10.

Anyways i guess i just want to know if anyone else has been on lupron and experienced the same thing....or if this is not normal....or is this ever going to stop. My OBGYN and i had an argument over my estrogen levels because i was very emotional....now im left without a GYN and this was only supposed to be a short 2 months on one month off to see if there was a big difference in pain levels with me not cycling. And to see if the PMDD would be helped by not cycling. Now im going to be on it until my referral to a new OBGYN is through....

Im also wondering....ive read a lot of people say they had a DNC when they went on lupron...should he maybe have done that when he started me on it. Ive had 2 canal biopsies in the last 6 months....cervical scrapes.....paps every 3 months as they are treating me for a precancerous condition....and im fighting to have this hysterectomy done however im happy im going to see a new gyn as maybe this one will not keep prolonging all of this bull.

Oh and i had a tubal ligation feb 2016...i know some drs wont do a full hysterectomy on women below a certain age well im not having any more kids 100%. I already go thru menopause symptoms from other meds im on. Im just at my wits end. I hope you ladies understand my frustration worry and ranting.

Thank you to all of you.
Laurie

Hi Laurie,

I am not a doctor, but if you are bleeding that much (a box of tampons in 24 hours?), you are definitely at the point where you need medical attention. I was at that point when I was going through a box of supers every 3 days. I had a doctor advising me to try the same things and I was already bleeding heavily. I prayed about it and, like you, found a new doctor. I had my hysterectomy 24 days ago and it is certainly not something to go into lightly, but our bodies know when it is time.

In the meantime, get yourself in for medical attention is my advice. I will be praying for you!

Re: Lupron...

I agree with Ruth 116, you need medical attention pending seeing your new GYN. Can you see a partner at the office you were going to in the interim? Seems very unprofessional that your doctor would get into an argument with you and abandon you. There are things they can do hormone wise to reverse the Lupron, so I was told. I had already had an ablation when I took it and was only checking to see if pain subsided. So, I didn't have any bleeding. However, this definitely needs medical attention. I would not wait out your new referral, either contact the office you were seeing and request to see any other provider, or if you have a family physician, see them, worst case scenario, the ER, but that can be serious amounts of blood loss. Good Luck!
