Concerned and Confused

Hello. I had my TVH(kept ovaries) 16 June. MY recovery has been pretty good. I had my post op on the 7th of July and the doc did an exam said everything was great. Told me I could resume my normal activities over the next couple of weeks easing into them. Well I forgot to ask some questions. Like one does that mean I can try to have sex. DH and I had something similiar to sex last end of last week. Very shallow. No issues no pain. But over the last couple of days I have noticed an odor when I go to the bathroom. And I am having pains in the lower right area of my abdomen where my ovary is. Is this normal? Should I be concerned. We have decided to wait to try anything again. I hope I did not do anything to set back my progress. I went to the gym for the first time on Saturday and rode the bike. It was ok. Could I be over doing it? I mean the doc said he does not want to see me again until three months. I am not sure what is ok and what is not. How do I know if I messed something up?

He also said that I should be back to running and all that by six weeks. I am active duty military and have gained quite a bit of weight over the last few months and need to get active again. He said that most women at 4 weeks after vaginal hysto can pretty much resume their normal lives within limits. I am a person that tends to really push the envelope and don't want to push this one. Any guidance is much appreciated.

I'm not sure how to answer as we are still waiting another 3 weeks (I am 5 weeks post op), so I am unsure what would be "normal" having sex so soon.

Call your doctor to be on the safe side especially with having the odor. Could be an infection as I highly doubt your vaginal cuff has healed yet. I am farther out than you and my stitches are still healing.

Good luck.
